Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics
Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.
During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.
“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.
“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”
Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.
“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”
Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.
However, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”
Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”
Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.
Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.
Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.
National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.
At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”
The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
